Cobbs Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Bakehouse and Catering are operated by Loch Ness Coffee Company Limited, Drumnadrochit, Inverness-shire. Now with over 50 employees, the company is proud of the fact that many staff members have been with Cobbs for several years.
In 2000 the company succeeded in winning the catering franchise at Historic Scotland’s new multi-million pound visitor centre at Urquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness. The company also operates the catering facility at Fort George and two other coffee shops in the north of Scotland. The Loch Ness Clansman Hotel was added to the portfolio in February 2007.
Having found acclaim for their home baking products Cobbs Cakes are now supplied to outlets all over Scotland. Customers include coffee shops, delicatessens, visitor attractions, universities and hospitals.
The Cobbs name derives from John Cobb who, in 1952 attempted to break the world water speed record on Loch Ness. Sadly Cobb died in the attempt, but his courage and bravery have never been forgotten and his name lives on at Cobbs Restaurant.
