Cobbs Cakes was established in 2002 when we took over a village craft bakery on a farm in the Highland village of Drumnadrochit.
Originally production was solely for our own outlets, but demand from other visitor attractions soon enabled the business to grow. Cobbs Cakes has long since outgrown the original kitchen at Drum Farm and now occupies larger premises in Drumnadrochit. We now have seven outlets of our own and there are 15 staff working all year round. We are delighted that Cobbs Cakes are now distributed all over Scotland to cafés, coffee shops, takeaways, hospitals, universities and visitor attractions. Exclusive ranges can now be produced, and the directors are committed to looking at new market opportunities and continual product development.
To begin with we toured Scotland with boxes of cakes in the back of the car, calling at catering establishments throughout the country. However business grew so quickly that we soon made an important decision to use a distributor. In 2006 we joined forces with central belt distributors Fife Creamery Ltd and since then their amazing sales team has relieved us of the task of driving all over the country - we now just get on with doing what we do best - the baking.
There are now over 30 products in our range and everything is baked to traditional recipes using natural ingredients without additives, preservatives or hydrogenated vegetable oils.
